Developed by EDUCAUSE the Higher Education Community Vendor Assessment Tool (HECVAT) is a security assessment template that attempts to generalize higher education information security and data protection questions and issues regarding cloud services for consistency and ease of use.

Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act requires agencies to ensure that their information and communication technology (ICT) is accessible to people with disabilities unless certain exceptions apply. Specifically, Section 508 requires agencies to ensure that ICT they develop, procure, maintain, or use allows employees with disabilities and individuals with disabilities who are members of the public to have access to and use of information and data. This access should be comparable to that available to employees and members of the public without disabilities.
